Gardening for Pollinators: How to Make Your Garden and Yard Pollinator-Friendly
With pollinator populations on the decline, creating our own habitat gardens for pollinators is becoming increasingly important. But it’s easier than you may think! Even small space gardeners can grow a few choice plants to support monarchs, native bees and other wildlife and help create a more diverse and sustainable landscape.
From natural pest control techniques to bee hotels and other DIY projects to try at home, this 2 hour course will cover everything gardeners and pollinator supporters can do right now to help pollinators. Students will learn about pollinator and wildlife gardening, common beneficial insects, companion planting, native planting, growing milkweed and how to create a certified habitat garden. We’ll even create our own wildflower seed balls to plant at home!
10am- 12pm
