Seeds & Threads

~ A collage series extending the thoughts of the revolutionary quote ‘they tried to bury us, they didn’t know we were seeds’ along with trying to make sense in ‘these troubled times’. These days many of us are holding on by a thread. When the thread thins and breaks, we knot it back together – it’s all we can do. We knot to count the days, we knot to make do, we knot to mark the events where we needed to remember our ‘seedness.’ We have all we need inside of us (somewhere) to start anew.
~ As part of the ‘Against the Grain’ themed season at The Good Life Center, there is no question that growth and future-thinking are against: the contemporary practice of capitalist society, the modern separation of thinking methods, and of course, the current political administration. Seeds represent the freedom to grow and adapt, as part of the cycles – this adaptation is the key. To be against the closed loop of simplified grain is to question, to work in relation with nature, and be open to change.
wild apotropaic is an art collective of people and nature, elements and energies, plants and animals in more-than-human and not-only-human ways. It is a project of invoking nature to protect us from the evil of anthropocentric negativity. We can access the intuition of plants, animals, and the elements, connecting us all through art. This ritual of connection reaches for positivity in a passionate and anarchic way – outside of the institutionalized and systemic inheritance of freedom restriction. Wild with us.
